Dr. Billye J. Jones, LCSW

Dr. Billye J. Jones, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker, author, and educator. With a career rooted in child and family mental health, she specializes in preventing child sexual abuse (CSA) and supporting healing across generations.
As the author of "We Can Prevent Child Sexual Abuse: A Guide for Parents and Caregivers", Billye equips adults with the knowledge and tools to recognize abuse, disrupt grooming behaviors, and protect children. Her work also addresses the overlooked impact of trauma in older adults, the role of collective trauma, and the need for trauma-informed systems.
Billye leads workshops, trains social workers and educators, and partners with organizations to build prevention-based programs. Her mission is simple but powerful: empower families and communities to stop abuse before it happens, and ensure those who’ve experienced trauma are seen, heard, and supported. Prevention is possible, and together, we can make it a reality.

We Can Prevent Child Sexual Abuse

"We Can Prevent Child Sexual Abuse" brings together several topics, which include reducing the risk of child sexual abuse, primary prevention, intervention, and how to engage in open conversations.  You will learn proven tips and strategies to prevent child sexual abuse, as well as helpful advice about what to do if a child comes in contact with an abuser.   By the end of the book, you will learn the five steps to being a “parent preventionist.”
The strategies you learn will actively address other issues as well. Child sexual abuse does not exist in a vacuum. Ensuring the safety of children and their ability to live freely from sexual abuse and other forms of abuse and neglect is a human rights and social justice issue. Once you start reframing how you talk about child sexual abuse, you may notice a shift in social justice, gender equity, and gender equality.
